A rich and winey coffee with deep, dried-fruit sweetness and a heavy, chocolatey body.
On the flanks of Mount Elgon, Bugisu coffee has long been Uganda’s ambassador to the world. This Arabica, grown by communities rooted deep in tradition, carries with it the resonance of volcanic soil, misty mornings, and lush tropical canopies. Bugisu’s history with coffee spans decades, having established itself as a source of bold and dependable beans. What elevates it today is a renewed focus on quality and traceability, transforming its reputation from bulk exporter to specialty contender. The beans exude a smooth richness with just a hint of spice—anchoring the profile in something distinctly East African but unmistakably Ugandan.
Nyasaland An older Typica selection from Malawi (formerly Nyasaland), it is one of the first varieties grown commercially in East Africa. It provides a solid, classic coffee profile.
SL-14 Selected in Uganda, SL-14 is drought-tolerant and known for its good cup quality, often presenting a sweet and balanced profile with a distinct stone fruit character.
